About the founder
A closet company veteran who now works only for you.
Mark spent a decade on the inside of the closet industry. He founded and ran Austin Closet Solutions, designing, manufacturing, and installing custom closets, offices, and garages — and successfully competing with the big franchise companies by going the extra mile on detail and service.
After selling the company in 2023, he became The Closet Advocate and now works entirely on the homeowner's side of the table. Because he no longer sells or installs product, his design guidance is genuinely product-neutral: the plans are yours to shop with any closet company.
Before closets, he built 20 years of decorating, painting, mirror, and artwork experience. That background shows up in the finishes, color direction, and small details that make a storage space feel finished rather than just functional.

Why product-neutral matters
Most closet companies are sales-driven. Your advisor isn't.
When the person designing your closet also profits from selling the product, the recommendations can be shaped by the sales model. A closet company may still be the right next step, but an independent advisor removes constraints that have little to do with how you want the space to work.
-
More scheduling flexibility
Work one-on-one without a closet company's limited appointment windows.
-
Freedom to compare products
The design is not confined to a single company's product line.
- No sales quota
Recommendations are not influenced by a product-sales target.
-
No installation job to win
The fee is for the plan, so there is no pressure to close the build.
You receive detailed plans and 3D designs that you can take to any vendor. Because the service ends at design and planning — without product sales or installation — the focus stays on the layout, materials, and price that serve the way you live.
Product-neutral guidance.
Work with an advocate, not a salesperson.
